What is behind the IRI team’s meeting with BNP, Yunus amid crisis?

Yesterday, three very interesting meetings were held. At 12 noon, a seven-member delegation from the US regime change actor International Republican Institute (IRI) met with the BNP delegation at the office of the BNP Chairperson in Gulshan, where Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Salahuddin Ahmed, Shyama Obaid, Mahadi Amin and a few others were present.

Then the IRI delegation went to Jamuna to meet Muhammad Yunus. According to the IRI, their visit was to observe the pre-election situation, but no one related to the election was present during the meeting with Yunus, who was accompanied by his confidante Lamiya Morshed. Isn’t it a surprising deal?

Shortly after that, the BNP delegation went to Jamuna to meet Yunus. Of course, Lamiya was not there at that meeting, but advisers Adilur Rahman Khan, Asif Nazrul and Wahid Uddin Mahmud were there.

Activist Monjur Ahmed explained that the IRI is funded by the US federal government, and it works to spread the American-style democracy all over the world. But the real work behind the scenes is to implement an agenda related to US interests all over the world. For this reason, they are never seen talking about democracy in the Middle East. They are not seen in Pakistan either. They are found in Hong Kong or Taiwan.

Recently, they have been very enthusiastic in Bangladesh. So, what was the purpose of these three meetings?

The main target of the IRI meeting with the BNP was to ensure the BNP’s absolute support for Yunus’ signing of the NDA agreement with the United States and everything that he is handing over to the US, including the country’s ports and mineral resources. In exchange, they have been given electoral juice.

The BNP has no concern for the country or its people; in fact, it never has. If they had, they would have had a minimum political statement on issues related to the country’s interests in the last fourteen months. But they are so blinded by the greed for power that they have no politics at the moment except for turning left and right on the Jamuna at Yunus’s call. Occupation of bus stands and tempo stands, and extortion can no longer be called politics. Moreover, the BNP’s American fetish is not new.

Let me remind you that in October 2023, after showing a picture of a meeting held with Jill Biden on an online platform, a Bangladeshi-origin American citizen named Mia Arefi claimed to be Biden’s adviser and held many meetings with top BNP leaders, including Mirza Fakhrul, Mirza Abbas. Not only that, but this scoundrel also went to the BNP central office and held a press conference.

Think about how bankrupt a political party is.

So, when the real IRI representatives meet with the BNP, there is no doubt that they are in seventh heaven with happiness. They are coming to Yunus’ office in the afternoon to tell him about their happiness. They are definitely saying that whatever you give to the Americans, give us the empty chair of power. Another proof of how dependent they have become due to the greed for power was found a few days ago when Mirza Fakhrul met with Gwyn Lewis, the outgoing UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh.

Gwyn Lewis also knows who is being picked from which seats in the BNP and even tells him the name of who can be made the foreign minister.

Sometimes it seems that since foreigners are doing the politics of BNP, that is why Tarique Rahman does not want to come to the country! But is there a but here? The rate at which Mirza Fakhrul has started worshipping Yunus lately indicates something different.

Mirza Fakhrul shook hands with Yunus on the plane to the UN, found General Ziaur Rahman in Yunus, and saluted Yunus on the day of the signing of the July Charter. Then, after the meeting, Mirza Fakhrul said that they want Yunus as the head of the election-time government.

People will have to wait a few more days to find out whether Mirza Fakhrul wants to remove Tarique Rahman from the scene or his accomplice.

The topic of Yunus’ meeting with the IRI representatives was most likely a discussion on Yunus’ safe exit. That is why Yunus did not bring anyone else with him except Lamiya to this meeting. Because he does not trust anyone.

The IRI representatives naturally order the immediate fulfilment of demands related to American interests, assure him of shelter in the future, and assure him that there will be no retaliation from the BNP.

Activist Monjur said: โ€œPolitics is not a straightforward matter. Some of the above may seem like perception, but to understand the game of politics, you have to read Between the Lines. Only then will you be able to grasp the main point. Understanding when two plus two will make four and when it will make twenty-two is politics. Not what always happens in front of your eyes. And if you want to understand something by looking at the press releases that the dustbin Shafiq gives, you will not understand anything about the ongoing conspiracy about Bangladesh.โ€

However, one thing is as clear as day: the BNP will also have to take responsibility for every sin of the traitor Yunus gang. For the last 14 months, they have been behaving like Yunus’ longboat, just for the greed of coming to power. Yunus Gong is handing over the country’s natural resources, ports, and sea borders to foreigners, but in their eyes, Yunus is a good person, he added.

The country’s economy is almost destroyed; it can be said that a silent famine is going on, and the common people are in an extremely insecure environment, but they have no words. One day, they will have to answer people about what honey they get from the juice party in Jamuna. And then, along with the Yunus gang, the people will also throw the BNP, which plays the role of Mir Jafar, into the dustbin of history. That day is not far off.
