The adviser said that the Kushiyara River Water Sharing Project was mentioned as suspended on social media. There is no project by this name. However, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Bangladesh and India in 2022 on the withdrawal of water from the common river Kushiyara. The Memorandum of Understanding was not suspended. Although the Road and Waterway Development Agreement regarding the use of ports was mentioned as cancelled on social media, there is no agreement by this name. However, an agreement was signed between Bangladesh and India in 2018 on the transport of goods using Chittagong and Mongla ports. The agreement has not been cancelled. The agreement is in force.

Touhid Hossain said that although Bangladesh’s financial cooperation proposal for the Farakka Dam project was mentioned as cancelled on social media, the concerned ministry is not aware of any such proposal.
