โHowever, for waging this just struggle to re-establish democracy and safeguard peopleโs rights, Awami League members are being subjected to brutal and inhumane repression. Today, in continuation of this persecution, a planned wave of mob violence was unleashed against Awami League leaders and activists participating in a peaceful procession in the capital.
โMany were severely injured in barbaric attacks; victims were even obstructed from receiving medical treatment. Some have reportedly been abducted or forcibly disappeared, with ransom demands being made for their release.
โWhile cadres of various political parties, including the BNP, are carrying out mob attacks in collusion with the police, law enforcement is simultaneously creating an atmosphere of fear by indiscriminately arresting injured Awami League activists and destroying the environment necessary for fair political practice.โ

The statement demanded immediate arrest of the attackers, proper medical treatment for the injured, and the unconditional release of all unlawfully detained leaders, activists, and political prisoners.
โAt the same time, we urge the people of the country to remain vigilant against conspiratorial activities aimed at destroying the achievements of national development under the leadership of Bangabandhuโs daughter, Sheikh Hasina, and depriving the citizens of its benefits,โ the Awami League said.
