Awami League President, five-time Prime Minister, and Desh Ratna Sheikh Hasina has said that Bangladesh has overcome adversity before and will rise again, stronger, more united, and more determined to build a democracy that truly serves its people.
In an open letter to the โhonest, hard-working, and patriotic people of Bangladesh,โ Bangabandhuโs daughter, Sheikh Hasina, on Tuesday said that one year ago, the nation witnessed the violent interruption of our hard-fought democracy, as an unelected regime seized power through unconstitutional means.
In the continuation of the ongoing movement to uproot the BNP-Jamaat-backed fascist Yunus regime, the Awami League is observing August 5 as the day when democracy was destroyed and students, people, and police were killed and injured due to the July conspiracy.
Sheikh Hasina said: โIt was a dark moment in our history, an affront to the will of the people, and a betrayal of the trust between citizens and the state.

Sheikh Hasina: I showed tolerance after assuming power in 2009
โWhile they may have taken power, they will never take away our spirit, our resolve, or our destiny. I can assure you of that.โ
She thanked the people of Bangladesh for showing extraordinary courage in the face of injustice and repression.
โYou have refused to be silenced. You have stood up for democracy, for freedom, and for the future we all deserve. I am constantly inspired by your courage and your love for our country.
โThough this past year has tested us, it has also revealed the unbreakable bond between our people and the values of democracy. We have endured hardship, but in that hardship, we have found unity and purpose.
โLet us never forget that power belongs to the people, and no regime can suppress the will of a nation forever. Our struggle is not over, but our cause is just.โ

Sheikh Hasina said that the people must continue to stand for justice, for economic opportunity, for education, for peace, and for a nation where no one lives in fear.
โTogether, we will rebuild what has been broken. Together, we will reclaim the institutions that were taken from us. And together, we will write a new chapter, one defined not by oppression, but by hope, progress, and freedom.
โLet this anniversary not be a day of retrospection, but a rallying cry for a brighter tomorrow. I believe in you. I believe in Bangladesh. And I believe that our best days are yet to come.โ
In July, the Awami League supporters observed a hartal and other demonstrations and asked party activists to prepare for the Long March to Jamuna to unseat the fascist Yunus regime.
Once in power, the Awami League will not take revenge but rescue the nation from the darkness of illegal rule.
The return of the Awami League means complete reconstruction of national institutions, reestablishment of the independence of the judiciary, ensuring the evaluation of merit in the administration, and restoration of the spirit of the Liberation War in education, culture, and economy, the party said.
In the name of the anti-quota movement, the conspirators had brought students onto the field and incited the people against the Bangladesh Awami League, the government, and the police force.
Finally, on August 5th, when a plan was made to kill Desh Ratna Sheikh Hasina, she voluntarily relinquished power.
The conspirators did not allow her to resign according to the rules. She wanted to submit her resignation to President Mohammed Shahabuddin and go to Tungipara and continue the democratic trend by organising elections.
But the conspirator Yunus Gang and his terrorist and militant forces killed more than 3,000 policemen that day and illegally seized state power.
With the aim of wiping out the Awami League, thousands of leaders and activists have been brutally killed since July, their houses are being looted and burned, business establishments and land are being seized, and thousands of leaders and activists have been forced to leave their homes and the country.
More than 150,000 party leaders and activists have been detained in prison without trial, and 500,000 leaders and activists are being accused and harassed in more than 80,000 fake cases.
The accused in these false cases are being tortured and killed in prison. In the name of trials, party leaders and activists, including Desh Ratna Sheikh Hasina, are being harassed.
However, the people responsible for these crimes have confessed at different times because this government has given them immunity.
