Chhatra League leader Dola Chowdhury was gang-raped by 12 people linked to the local BNP-Jamaat at her house in Feni on the night of August 6, a day after the fall of the Awami League government through the July conspiracy.
Later, they tortured her body with iron rods and a spatula. When she fell unconscious, the attackers left the house, assuming that she had died.
The criminals also hindered the rescuers during her transport to Dhaka, where she sought further treatment. They then transported her to the Noakhali Government Hospital.
Sharing the story of her barbaric torture at aย live program, Dola described how she had worked for the welfare of the poor students of 18 departments, built a mosque at the college, and served the common people during the Covid-19 lockdown.
Dola is the daughter of a freedom fighter, Feni Government College student, and the organizing secretary of the district unit of Chhatra League.
Awami League President and former prime minister Sheikh Hasina said these culprits are the successors of Pakistani military ruler Yahya Khan.
