Cricket fans and members of the Awami League and its affiliated organisations are slandering the chief adviserโs press secretary, Shafiqul Alam alias โDustbin Shafiqโ, for his derogatory Facebook post criticising star cricketer Shakib Al Hasan.
โDustbin Shafiqโ shared a news photocard of Shakib Al Hasan and wrote that a worshipper of killers, a looter and a stock market scammer like him would not come again in 100 years.
His post was a satiric reaction to Asif Akbarโs remarks on Shakib Al Hasan. Recently, renowned singer Asif Akbar was elected unopposed to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) as a director.

Netizens are condemning the duplicity of โDustbin Shafiqโ as he had campaigned for Shakib Al Hasan when he ran for the 12th national election from the Magura-1 constituency in 2024.
Since taking office at the rank of a senior secretary, former AFP Bureau Chief, “Dustbin Shafiq”, has made numerous mistakes and circulated false information as well as rumours to defame the Awami League leadership and uplift the Yunsu regime.
He works as an agent of Yunus and is accused of nepotism and corruption in government appointments and transfers. Recently, his brother became the administrator of Narayanganj City Corporation.
During the July-August riots last year, “Dustbin Shafiq” helped coordinate the reporters of some selected media outlets at home and abroad to spread propaganda. He also worked as a link between the student coordinators and embassies in Dhaka.
