November 7: A heinous terror plot by General Zia and Mujib killer Mohiuddin

On November 6, 1975, after midnight, that is, in the first hours of November 7, tension began in front of the Second Field Regiment of the Cantonment. Bangabandhu’s murderer, Major Mohiuddin of the Field Regiment, became active with the agitated sepoys.

On the night of August 15, he fired 7-8 shells from an artillery gun targeting house number 32, Dhanmondi.

Although all the murderers of Bangabandhu left the country, Mohiuddin remained in the country for some special reason. After that, he stayed in the Cantonment in regular contact with the army dictator General Ziaur Rahman. This murderer, Mohiuddin, freed Zia from house arrest and took him to the Field Regiment.

Then, Ziaur Rahman incited the agitated soldiers who were present, which caused them to become increasingly brutal. Most of these soldiers had returned to Pakistan. No battalion of the Bengal Regiment that participated in the Liberation War was with them. In their infernal barbarity, 13 army officers, including a female doctor, were brutally murdered that night. They also killed the wife of Sector Commander Abu Osman Chowdhury.

On November 7, during the day, on the orders of the dictator Ziaur Rahman, Major General Khaled Mosharraf, one of the Sector Commanders of the Liberation War; Lt. Col. ATM Haider, the head of K Force and one of the initiators of the Crack Platoon; and Col. Huda, the Sub-Sector Commander and accused in the Agartala Conspiracy Case, were killed.

Then, to sabotage the investigation and trial of the shameful murder of November 7, the day was declared as National Solidarity and Revolution Day. This was Ziaur Rahman’s anti-humanity move. At the same time, the people of JSD tried to call this day the Sepoy Revolution.

However, it is known from the books of several military personnel about this conspiracy and massacre of November that no trace of the events of November 7 was found outside. No revolution took place anywhere in the country. No one even expressed solidarity.

Even with the looting of the houses of army officers and the torture and massacre of their family members that were carried out overnight under the name of the Sepoy Revolution, not all the soldiers of the entire army were involved in it. None of the Bengal units that participated in the Liberation War took part in it.
