On National Mourning Day, 15 August, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, grandson of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, honoured the resilience of Bangladeshis against anti-national forces, led by the Jamaat-controlled interim government chief adviser, Muhammad Yunus.
In a post on X and Facebook on Friday, the son of Awami League President and five-time Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed gratitude and sympathy to those who faced injustice at 32 Dhanmondi.
He thanked writers, poets, journalists, artists, workers, activists, and political workers for their impactful social media posts.
Sajeeb Wazed urges supporters to pay tribute to Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi 32
Will raise victory flag from the ruins of Dhanmondi 32 once again, says Sheikh Hasina
โEvery one of your social media posts struck like a bullet to the chest of the oppressors. For this, I thank you all.โ
Joy emphasised that Bangabandhu belongs to all of Bangladesh, not just one party, and is revered by every freedom-loving citizen as the Father of the Nation.
He vowed to unite the nation to protect Bangladesh from anti-liberation forces, reinforcing national unity and resilience.
He said that Bangladesh has witnessed a new Bangabandhuโa Bangabandhu whose indomitable strength has been felt by the anti-Bangladesh forces.
โBangabandhu does not belong to any one political partyโBangabandhu belongs to Bangladesh. He belongs to everyone. One does not need to be a member of the Awami League to honour and love Bangabandhu. Every freedom-loving, humane soul in this nation recognises him as our Father of the Nation, and today, that truth has been proven once more.โ
Sajeeb Wazed wrote: โToday we vowโwe will free Bangladesh from the grip of anti-liberation and anti-national forces. Together, forgetting all divisions, we ourselves will protect our beloved country.โ
