Awami League to hold protest for Yunusโ€™ resignation in Dhaka Monday

As part of its monthlong program, the Bangladesh Awami League will hold demonstrations and protest marches in all thana units under Dhaka Metropolitan City on Monday.

The programme was announced on June 13 to press for the resignation of the illegitimate government of fascist and militant patron Muhammad Yunus and an end to the farcical and illegal trial at the International Crimes Tribunal.

Awami League President and five-time Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the party members to wage an all-out movement to topple the Yunus-led illegal government.

In a statement issued by the party, the Awami League called for resisting the anti-national, public enemy, and unconstitutional Yunus gang.

It also appealed to the patriotic people, all democratic, progressive, non-communal individuals and organisations supporting the Liberation War to take an oath to build a liberal, democratic, humane welfare state.

On June 23, a virtual discussion meeting will be held on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Awami League. In addition, humanitarian activities, including distribution of food and clothes among the helpless and distressed people, will be conducted.

Protests will be held in divisional cities across the country on June 24, at all organisational district levels on July 1, and upazila and union levels on July 16.

The Awami League Statement

On August 5 last year, the elected government led by Bangabandhu’s daughter, Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was forced to leave the country by the public enemy, murderer-fascist Yunus, and his anti-national militant allies through โ€œmeticulous designโ€.

Since then, a cruel, brutal and horrific darkness has descended on the people across the country.

Democracy is in exile today; human rights are being violated! Freedom of the media is gone! Horrific violence, torture and rape against women!

There is no security for people’s lives and property. Torture and oppression of religious minorities continue. Extreme deterioration of the law-and-order situation.

Unbridled mob violence, mass robbery, kidnapping, and looting from the centre to the outskirts of the country. Anarchy, justice and the rule of law have become a nightmare in educational institutions.

The madness of extremist militants and communal groups has alarmed the entire nation.

A conspiracy is underway to hand over the territory and resources of Bangladesh to foreigners. The anti-people force, and illegal occupier fascist Yunus Gang are betraying the entire nation and pushing our beloved motherland, Bangladesh, towards a multinational war.

In this extreme crisis of the country, the entire nation must be energised and united in the spirit of the great Liberation War to overthrow the illegal occupier, fascist Yunus, and his puppet government of foreign subservience.

The Bangladesh Awami League has taken some programs to restore and protect at any cost the history of the heroic Bengalis, victory in 1971, the Constitution written in blood, independence-sovereignty, and democracy.
