A college student was allegedly raped inside a cabin of the passenger launch Farhan in Hatiya upazila of Noakhali, sparking widespread outrage and concern among locals. Residents have demanded the immediate arrest of those involved and exemplary punishment for the perpetrators.
According to local sources and the victim’s family, the incident occurred recently while the college student was traveling on a launch bound for Hatiya. The accused allegedly lured her into a cabin and sexually assaulted her. She was later rescued in an ill condition and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
