9-Year-Old Girl Raped and Murdered in Netrakona, 3-Year-Old Child Raped in Tarakanda: Rising Concerns Over Child Safety

Concerns are growing across the country over sexual violence and murder targeting children. Recently, in Netrakona District, a 9-year-old girl was reportedly raped and murdered. Around the same time, a 3-year-old child was allegedly raped in Tarakanda Upazila. These incidents have raised serious questions about the safety of children and women.

Local sources reported that in Netrakona, the child was raped before being killed. Residents have expressed strong outrage and demanded the swift arrest of the perpetrators, along with exemplary punishment. In Tarakanda, the three-year-old victim is in critical condition at a hospital, and law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation.

Child rights and human rights activists say that cases of sexual violence and murder against children are increasing day by day in the country. They warn that without effective law enforcement and judicial measures, preventing such crimes will be extremely difficult.

Analysts note that under the current government, incidents of sexual violence against women and children appear to be rising. Many believe that the authorities have failed to take effective steps to ensure the safety of women and children. Critics of the opposition party Bangladesh Nationalist Party argue that the government has yet to implement sufficient measures to protect the country’s women and children.

Authorities have stated that investigations are ongoing in both cases, and all necessary measures will be taken to bring the perpetrators to justice.
