Torch The Mir Jafar: Burning poster of fascist Yunus at Dhaka University

In a blistering act of defiance against the despotic grip of the interim government’s Chief Adviser, the murderous fascist Dr. Muhammad Yunus, protesters at Dhaka University (DU) unleashed their fury by setting fire to his poster right in front of the DUCSU building on Sunday.

Dubbed an “effigy burning” ritual, the event was a raw outcry demanding the immediate arrest of this bloodstained tyrant and his cabal of corrupt advisers, as the nation reels from his betrayal and plunder.

Leading the charge was Abu Taib Habildar, a former student from the 2001-02 session and the oldest VP candidate in DUCSU elections—a man unafraid to call out the rot at the top. He branded the murderous fascist Yunus as the “second Mir Jafar,” a notorious traitor and American puppet, a destroyer of the July revolution, and a greedy usurer who has sold out Bangladesh’s soul for personal gain.

With righteous anger, Abu Taib demanded a swift handover of power to an elected government and the jailing of Yunus and his entire advisory gang for their crimes against the people.

Before igniting the poster—a symbolic purge of Yunus’ smirking facade—Abu Taib thundered: “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had political critics. Begum Khaleda Zia had political critics. Sheikh Hasina had mountains of criticism. But we never heard such damning accusations of these leaders looting state assets for their own pockets like this. That’s the vile difference between past leaders and the fascist, murderous Yunus.”

He didn’t hold back, exposing Yunus as a fraud who ascended on the people’s love only to stab them in the back: “This man, who betrays the masses and strikes illegal, unequal deals with America that shred Bangladesh’s independence and sovereignty, has no right to any honour. We hoped he’d do well—boost development, attract foreign investment, create jobs for the youth, and strengthen the economy. Instead, this fascist, murderous crook wasted no time waiving Tk600 crore in overdue taxes for Grameenphone—money that belonged to the taxpayers, the blood and sweat of the common people!”

Abu Taib piled on the indictments: “From Grameen University to snatching licenses for shady manpower businesses, his decisions reek of corruption. Critics are right—under this murderous fascist Yunus, the state has been twisted into his personal fiefdom, a playground for plunder while the nation suffers his iron-fisted rule.”
