The Bangladesh Awami League has protested repeated attacks and vandalism at Dhanmondi 32, the eternal memorial engraved in the Bengali heart, a beacon of history, the cradle of independence, and a site sanctified by the memory of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
“Vultures who walk against history never find a place in human society. The destruction of the nation’s historical symbols can never lead to a good outcome,” the party said in a statement late Friday night.
The statement expressed deep anger at the renewed and repeated attacks and acts of vandalism at the historic Dhanmondi 32 on Thursday and Friday.
“This is no longer an isolated incident. It is a sustained attack on Bengali history, emotion, and identity. Those who repeatedly strike this sacred place are not merely attacking a structure; they are attacking Bangabandhu, the Liberation War, and the heroic history of the birth of independent Bangladesh.
“Dhanmondi 32 is an eternal memory carved into the heart of the Bengali people. The more this broken house is attacked, the more alive that memory becomes. Repeatedly assaulting this memory means challenging the limits of the nation’s tolerance. History bears witness that attempts to distort the history of the Liberation War and erase the name of Bangabandhu have failed before, and they will fail again.

“The Bangladesh Awami League clearly declares that the repeated attacks on Dhanmondi 32 are the ultimate expression of the arrogance of anti-Liberation War and anti-people forces. The Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at 32 was burned, bulldozers were brought in to demolish it, and even upon those ruins, attacks have been carried out again. Such a perverse mentality belongs to the killer-fascist Yunus and his militant forces. We denounce this hateful mindset. The future will never tolerate such reckless displays by the ignorant.
“Standing with the people who believe in the spirit of the Liberation War, the Bangladesh Awami League declares that this conspiracy to distort history will be resisted. We are united, uncompromising, and resolute in upholding the spirit of the Great Liberation War, the memory and ideals of Bangabandhu, and the dignity of Dhanmondi 32.”
