Sheikh Hasina calls locker break-in ‘Yunus’ bank dacoity’ in explosive audio

Exiled Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday directly accused the West-backed, army-backed jihadist Yunus regime of deliberately burning down Korail slum and staging a “bank robbery” by breaking open her ancestral lockers 16 months after seizing power, describing both as desperate conspiracies to defame her as domestic and international outrage grows over the Jamaat-controlled ICT-BD’s death sentence.

In an audio statement, Hasina said: “They have been carrying out fire-terrorism everywhere, and now they have set fire to the slums… Why did they burn Korail today? Because apparently a big project is coming there… That is why they are kicking the poor in the stomach… Not a single person could take out any of their belongings. Empty-handed, with nothing, they barely managed to save their lives. How many people burned to death—that news has still not been released. This fire was completely orchestrated through conspiracy.”

She contrasted it with her government’s policy: “Every slum I cleared till now, I gave every resident alternative accommodation… I had already given flats on rent to 300 families… Today, without any notice, they have thrown so many people onto the streets. Their cries and wails… There is no humanity at all.”

On the breaking of her family lockers at Agrani Bank, she declared: “Today they broke the lock of Agrani Bank again. Why did they break the lock? The keys are with me. I am still alive… This is Dr Muhammad Yunus’ bank dacoity. He is getting people to commit bank robbery.”

She explained the contents: “There are my grandmother’s, my grand-aunt’s, and my mother’s jewelry… Kamal’s wife’s jewelry, Jamal’s wife’s jewelry, and even some jewelry of Putul after her wedding. Everything was kept there.”

Hasina threw down a direct challenge: “I challenge them—after becoming Prime Minister, when did I ever go to Agrani Bank, open the locker, and deposit anything? Bring out the locker register and show it… I don’t even remember going to Agrani Bank or opening the locker even once from 1996 till today.”

Widespread social media posts immediately branded the displayed centuries-old ornaments as “copper and brass” rather than gold, with millions asking why this “massive recovery” surfaced only 16 months after the regime seized power—exactly when global condemnation of the Jamaat-controlled ICT-BD verdict and surging domestic support for Hasina began threatening Yunus’ hold on power.

The audio has exploded across pro-Awami League platforms and is being shared millions of times, adding fresh fuel to nationwide protests against the illegally installed Yunus hybrid regime.

Hasina sarcastically announced: “I give all these lockers and everything inside as bhiksha (charity) to Yunus and Yunus’ fascist gang government… I know my children will not mind—I donate all of it to them as alms.”

She issued a stark warning: “This fascist, murderous, jihadi Yunus must be removed from power. Otherwise, within just one year, six crore people have already been pushed below the poverty line… This usurer, killer Yunus, and his anti-liberation jihadi clique have turned the country into a nation of beggars.”

Closing with a nationwide call to action, she urged: “To save the country… to remove this fascist jihadi Yunus from power, everyone must unite with whatever you have and work together.”
