As discussions over the alleged role of the US officials in overthrowing the Awami League government keep growing, many of the mysterious activities that took place during last yearโs July-August riots, including grisly murders and false flagging, are now unfolding every day.
Since early February, some student coordinators and Islami Chhatra Shibir leaders have revealed on social media how they planned the movementโs modalities and coordinated among themselves and their associates in the US Embassy in Dhaka, local NGO leaders, international organisations, journalists in local and foreign media, and some social media influencers living abroad.
Several Shibir student leaders even spoke to the media on camera in the last few months, revealing how they spread rumours on Facebook to influence public sentiment against the Awami League, Chhatra League, and the police.
Some said they had to make fake student IDs for party activists to increase the number of protesters on the streets to fight the law enforcers.

How the deep state engineered Sheikh Hasinaโs ouster in August 2024
While the media reported some ruling party menโs armed attacks and the policeโs excesses on the protesters, the journalists have kept mum on the crimes by the protesters throughout the movement: from mob violence against the police and Awami League members to arson and looting.

The protesters began the targeted attacks on July 16, a day after clashes with the Chhatra League activists on the Dhaka University campus, which created much hype due to the higher number of injuries: reports say around 300 people took treatment at the nearby Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
However, on July 15, Shibir ran a coordinated social media campaign, claiming genocide was being carried out by the police at Dhaka University and Jahangirnagar University by snapping internet and electricity connections.
They were also spreading a rumour that two to four protesters were killed in Dhaka and one in Chittagong that day.
Due to the clashes that took place after 2pm, the US Embassy in Dhaka issued a Demonstration Alert the same day, asking its citizens to be alert, as the protesters announced tougher protests on July 16.
After midnight, a press conference by the then-State Department spokesperson, Matthew Miller, surprised the world by claiming that two protesters were killed during the protests, without giving details.
He said: โSo we are aware of and are monitoring reports of widespread student protests in Dhaka and around Bangladesh that have killed two and attacked and injured hundredsโฆโ

While there were no reports of any deaths during the protests on July 15, Bangladeshi journalists and politicians, as well as Foreign Ministry officials, were surprised by the irresponsible and erroneous claim by Mr. Miller.
When specific information was sought from the US Embassy in Dhaka on the two deaths, its acting spokesperson, Leonard Hill, told UNB on July 16 that they were โmonitoring reportsโ that included the injuries and deaths.
โWe are always looking for the most accurate information and welcome journalistsโ work to uncover the truth,โ the official added.
One year has passed since the State Departmentโs false statement, but neither the US Embassy nor the State Department clarified the claim of two deaths on July 15 that amplified the demonstrations the following day, causing deaths for the first time since the movement began on June 5.
On July 16, six deaths and scores of injuries were reported in countrywide protests and more in the following weeks before the fall of the Awami League government on August 5.
An act of deep state?
The Awami League and many researchers have accused the former US Ambassador, Peter Haas, of coordinating a conspiracy with the BNP-Jamaat, civil society, and journalists against the Awami League during his tenure from 2022.
To implement the meticulously designed conspiracy, the UN Human Rights chief, Volker Turk, and UN Resident Coordinator Gwyn Lewis played key roles in influencing the government officials as well as the Bangladesh Army to remain inactive or defy the governmentโs instructions to calm the situation.
Prominent voices, including US President Donald Trump, cybersecurity expert Mike Benz, economist Prof Jeffrey Sachs, and tech visionary Elon Musk, have spotlighted a meticulously orchestrated effort involving the US Agency for International Development (USAID), United Nations bodies, and influential figures like George Soros.
Far from a mere conspiracy, these narratives paint a picture of a strategic realignment in Bangladesh, driven by a student-jihadist-army coalition that culminated in what some call a โmeticulously designed anarchy.โ
Prof Jeffrey David Sachs, an American economist and public policy analyst who teaches at Columbia University, last year presented very strong evidence of the U.S. role in toppling the governments of Imran Khan in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Mike Benz, a former US State Department official, adds vibrant detail to this narrative through his appearance on Tucker Carlsonโs influential podcast. Benzโs revelations, amplified by Elon Muskโs repost on X, captivated global audiences, making Bangladesh a trending topic in US politics.
He claims USAID, alongside the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and the International Republican Institute (IRI), funnelled $21 million into Bangladeshโs Nagorik Program, ostensibly for voter engagement but allegedly to destabilise Sheikh Hasinaโs government.
After suspending USAID funds, US President Donald Trump in late February said that a $29 million project aimed at strengthening Bangladeshโs political landscape was awarded to an NGO with only two employees, apparently indicating an affiliate of Democracy International.
Sheikh Hasina decided to resign on August 4
Yunus is using database to crush Awami League, says Sheikh Hasina
โTheyโll be on the cover of a very good business magazine pretty soon, for being great scammers,โ he said.
On April 16, Yunus was featured in Time Magazineโs 100 most influential people of 2025 as he continued his mob rule like a brutal dictator who awarded impunity for killers and looters.
Yunusโ meticulous design
At the Clinton Global Initiativeโs annual meeting in the United States on September 24 last year, Yunus introduced his special assistant, Mahfuj Alam, a former Chhatra Shibir leader, as the โbrainโ behind the โmeticulously designedโ student-led protests that led to the ouster of the Awami League government from power.

Speaking at the Clinton Global Initiativeโs annual meeting, where Yunus was welcomed by his friend, former US president Bill Clinton, the Nobel laureate suggested that the protests were planned.
โThese are known to be the brains behind the whole revolution. They look like any other young personโฆyou will not recognise them. But when you see them in action, when you hear them speak, you will be shaking. They shook the whole country,โ he said.
โIt was an amazingโฆmeticulously designed thing. It just didnโt happen suddenly. Very well designed. Even the leadership didnโt know (him), so they could not catch him.โ
Yunus has been a friend of the Clintons since the 1980s, a major contributor to the Clinton Foundation, and a paid puppet of the Soros family through the Open Society Foundations.
His statements in New York were true, even though he later denied knowing any student leader during the protests, as the extensive and active participation of the United States came to the fore recently.
