According to Salahuddin Ahmed, “Ziaur Rahman said ‘on behalf of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’ during the declaration of independence—we are not denying that. Martyr President Ziaur Rahman declared independence on behalf of Bangabandhu.”
He further added that this should be considered an important reality in the history of Bangladesh’s independence. He emphasized the need to respect historical context and maintain fact-based discussions on such issues.
