Serious allegations of corruption have emerged in the nearly Tk 130 crore July Memorial Museum construction project. An investigative report published by Daily Kalbela claims that huge amounts of money were misappropriated through fake expenses and inflated bills in the name of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the report, large sums were withdrawn even though many of the project works were never completed. It also revealed that officials allegedly showed excessive expenses for daily snacks and meals, despite limited activities at the project site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The investigation further claims that even a simple nameplate unveiling ceremony was shown as costing several crores of taka. Expenses for equipment, decoration, and other materials were reportedly exaggerated far beyond actual market prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sources related to the project said there was a lack of transparency and accountability from the beginning. Allegations suggest that irregularities in the tender process, cost estimation, and supervision allowed an influential group to embezzle public funds over a long period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The issue has already sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many demanding an independent investigation and strict action against those responsible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, some officials connected to the project denied the allegations, claiming that all expenditures were made according to government regulations. They also alleged that certain information was being presented in a misleading way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
