How can it be called participatory?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She accused the authorities of blatant manipulation: \u201cThis time, Bangladesh saw voting beginning in the evening before the election day. The turnout jumped to 60% in several hours from 14% and then 32%. They rigged votes. Yunus and the EC have shown how rigging can be done.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She pointed to observer reports of empty polling centres and asked: \u201cHow can an election without Awami League be participatory and inclusive? Even observers saw empty polling centres.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a direct warning, she vowed to prosecute Yunus, the chief election commissioner, and the commissioners for the vote rigging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She also alleged systemic looting by the \u201cYunus gang\u201d over the past 18 months, pointing to ballooning public debt as proof of economic sabotage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She lambasted the interim government for economic ruin: \u201cLoans have reached Tk24 lakh crore from Tk2 lakh crore, loss of jobs and closure of factories, and suicidal agreements.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Listening To Victims<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sheikh Hasina spent nearly an hour hearing firsthand accounts of suffering from victims and their families. She instructed surviving Awami League members who endured brutal attacks to formally document the atrocities and file cases against the perpetrators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She assured medical care: \u201cI will ensure treatment for the injured party members.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyrepublicbd.com\/?p=6331\">Midnight Election: Sheikh Hasina postmortems unrealistic turnout claim<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dailyrepublicbd.com\/?p=6323\">Sheikh Hasina: Voting started in a festive mode the night before elections<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recalling her own response during earlier unrest, she said: \u201cI spoke to victims\u2019 families at Bangabhaban, gave them financial aid, and provided free treatment of the injured.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>July-August Anarchy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sheikh Hasina accused the student-led movement of turning violent almost immediately, claiming it used the anti-quota banner as cover for destruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe student-led movement turned violent from the outset. It began with vandalism and arson under the guise of anti-quota protests. I\u2019ll be by your side.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Harsh Treatment Of Senior Leaders<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sheikh Hasina highlighted the inhumane treatment of senior Awami League figures: \u201cSenior AL leaders, ministers, and MPs are taken to court and jail in handcuffs; they are denied treatment; former minister Ramesh Chandra Sen was fit but was denied treatment when he fell ill in jail.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She questioned selective impunity: \u201cYunus has insulted the former chief election commissioner. How could he do this? The former chief justice was handcuffed.
