The Bangladesh Awami League has categorically condemned the farcical and politically motivated “investigation report”<\/a> released by the illegal Yunus regime\u2019s so-called independent commission, describing it as a malicious fabrication designed to shield the real perpetrators of the 2009 Pilkhana BDR massacre\u2014the BNP-Jamaat clique, their jihadist allies, and extremist elements embedded within sections of the army and BDR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a detailed statement issued on Monday, the Awami League asserted that the entire exercise was a pre-scripted drama orchestrated by the unelected fascist regime to rewrite history, rehabilitate convicted killers, and defame the democratically elected government of Sheikh Hasina that had barely assumed office 50 days before the carnage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe report is nothing but a pack of lies, coached live on camera and dictated from the shadows,\u201d the party said. \u201cThe nation witnessed how the commission chairman was repeatedly prompted and instructed in full public view during the press conference\u2014clear proof that this was never an investigation but a predetermined political hit job.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Awami League reminded the nation of the established facts that expose the real motive behind the February 25-27 bloodbath:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– The massacre was masterminded and executed by anti-liberation, pro-Pakistan extremist officers and soldiers appointed during the BNP-Jamaat regime (2001-2006).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– The killers selectively targeted and brutally murdered army officers from freedom-fighter and pro-Awami League families\u2014many of whom had played pivotal roles in crushing Islamist militancy and ensuring the fair 2008 election that brought Sheikh Hasina to power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf anyone still harbours doubt about who gained from Pilkhana, they only need to ask: who has been systematically releasing the convicted killers since August 2024?\u201d the statement pointed out. Under Sheikh Hasina\u2019s leadership, swift and transparent trials concluded in 2013 with 152 death sentences, 160 life terms, and hundreds of other punishments. In contrast, the illegal Yunus regime has already freed 293 convicted mutineers\u2014effectively granting them indemnity while pretending to seek \u201cjustice.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Awami League ridiculed the commission\u2019s claim that the army was deliberately \u201crestrained\u201d to somehow benefit India, calling it a recycled BNP-Jamaat propaganda trope meant to inflame anti-India sentiment and cover up their own treasonous conspiracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThose who planned and executed the massacre from within the ranks to weaken Bangladesh\u2019s armed forces and topple a popular government are the same forces now being rehabilitated by the current regime,\u201d the party declared. \u201cAccusing Sheikh Hasina\u2014who ensured exemplary punishment for the killers\u2014is the ultimate irony and betrayal of the martyrs\u2019 blood.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The nation has already rejected this sham report, with citizens across the country expressing outrage on social media and demanding that the real conspirators behind Pilkhana be exposed and punished once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Awami League called upon all patriotic forces\u2014irrespective of political affiliation\u2014to unite against this dangerous attempt to divide the nation, rehabilitate razakar-jihadist elements, and legitimise fascist rule through fabricated narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
