Its legitimacy is under fire from Sheikh Hasina, who claims she never resigned as prime minister, alleging that the interim government forged the signature of a former chief justice to seek an opinion under Article 106 of the Constitution, which governs constitutional interpretations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This controversy, combined with a reported loss of public trust, has fueled demands for accountability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Civil society groups, including some Yunus supporters, are calling for the seizure of passports of interim advisers and investigations into alleged corruption before their tenure ends, citing concerns that over a dozen advisers with dual citizenship might flee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yunus\u2019 National Citizen Party (NCP) leaders, key players in the 2024 protests, fear prosecution under a restored caretaker system. Sources allege that Pakistan\u2019s ISI and Turkey\u2019s MIT are supporting Jamaat-e-Islami with funds and arms to groups like Ansar al-Islam, Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (HuJI-B) and Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), aiming to destabilise India\u2019s border.
