Awami League President and five-time Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asserted with firm conviction that the victory flag will be raised once again for Bangabandhu, Bangladesh, and the Bengali people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a message <\/a>to the nation on the National Mourning Day on Thursday, she remembered Bangabandhu, his family, and all the martyrs who fell victim to one of the most barbaric tragedies in history with deep sorrow and respect.<\/p>\n\n\n

She said that five decades after independence, \u201cwe again see Bangladesh becoming an arena for competition and influence among imperialist powers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs long as the state of Bangladesh exists, as long as the Bengali nation endures, the memory and ideals of Bangabandhu will be reborn again and again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was one of the foremost leaders of the global anti-colonial nationalist movements. His politics were an inseparable part of the struggle against imperialism and colonialism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He understood that without economic emancipation, social justice, and the preservation of cultural identity, political independence alone could never make a nation truly free. His vision was of a village-based economy, self-reliant production, and a firm stance in the global arena for equal dignity. He never bowed to foreign pressure, threats, or temptations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remembering the great leader of Bangladesh\u2019s independence struggle, Sheikh Hasina said that the killing in 1975 was not merely aimed at physically eliminating a man. The true intent was to permanently destroy an entire nation, including its ideals, dreams, aspirations, and potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEven after ending his physical existence, when the house at Dhanmondi 32, which stood tall as a guardian of that eternal dream, was bulldozed to the ground, it became clear that the vile mission to erase Bangabandhu\u2019s spirit from the consciousness and history of the Bengali nation had not ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe scarred and battered walls of No. 32 still bear witness to the blows of the bulldozers. Carrying the wounds of the August massacre, that shattered structure marks the most perilous period in the history of Bangladesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFifty years later, the enemy forces that failed to erase Bangladesh and Bangabandhu have now battered even the lifeless structure. This Bangladesh\u2014founded on the ideals of Bangabandhu\u2014remains their enemy.
