Social media was abuzz with concerns as well as vows to protect the historic site as the NCP is set to hold its street rally in the district on Wednesday amid tight security provided to the King\u2019s party of the chief adviser, Muhammad Yunus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Awami League supporters are seen vowing to resist any attack on the mausoleum on Wednesday, which coincides with the party\u2019s prescheduled programme demanding the resignation of the unconstitutional interim government and stopping the illegal trials at the International Crimes Tribunal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Tuesday, Md. Sarjis Alam, the NCP’s chief coordinator for the northern region, declared “March to Gopalganj” for Wednesday. In the comments, he later said the party will hold a rally at 11am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the NCP leaders masterminded the demolition and arson attack on the Dhanmondi-32 residence of Bangabandhu on August 5, August 15, and February 5, when a large number of members from Jamaat-Shibir and radical Islamist parties took part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, over 2,000 sculptures, murals, and museums related to the 1971 Liberation War and the Father of the Nation were destroyed by the extremists who have been enjoying impunity under the government\u2019s patronisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
