The National Citizen Party (NCP) leader, Hasnat Abdullah<\/a>, seems like a drug addict when he speaks at public rallies, said Chhatra Dal Joint General Secretary Shahriar Haque Mazumder Shimul.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In a Facebook post <\/a>early Wednesday, the Chhatra Dal leader warned that if Hasnat does not change his nature, he would have to face similar consequences to the Chhatra League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shimul says Hasnat\u2019s tendency to spread hatred towards opponents and dirty politics will not disappear from him so quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n

He praised the NCP convener, Nahid Islam, for his speeches during the countrywide rallies, saying his tone is impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI also tried to listen to several speeches by Hasnat Abdullah. To be honest, her speech sounded like that of a drug addict to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI don’t see a single speech where this former Chhatra League activist has made any normal speech without any attacks, provocations, or threats. I don’t see any speech other than shouting at the top of his voice, threatening with wide eyes like a street urchin, and constantly showing extreme disrespect to political competitors and polluting the political environment,\u201d said the post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hasnat appeared in the comments section within two hours to issue a challenge that he had never been with the Chhatra League, not even for a minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said that he would quit politics if anyone from the Chhatra Dal\u2019s Bijoy Ekattor Hall unit, campus journalists, the then Chhatra Odhikar, DU unit Chhatra Dal, Chhatra Shakti, or SAT could prove his involvement with the Chhatra League.<\/p>\n\n\n

Hasnat, one of the two chief organisers of the NCP, has created a hype after threatening journalists<\/a>, particularly mentioning the Bashundhara Group, one of the largest conglomerates in the country, which owns at least four newspapers and a private TV channel, to provoke mob attacks amid outcry for the lack of press freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Known as a reliable mob commander of the King\u2019s party and unpopular for his harsh voice and hellish facial expressions, the Dhaka University\u2019s English graduate appeared in his most ruthless mood while speaking at a rally, followed by a procession of the NCP in \u200b\u200bRajshahi city on Sunday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
